This is an important opportunity to highlight the importance of flood mitigation projects and ensure they receive the funding required. Survey closes Friday, February 7 at 4:30 p.m.
Budget concerns will be one of the biggest challenges facing flood mitigation efforts this year. Our top concerns include:
- Protection of funds for the Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir (SR1)
- Funding the feasibility study for phase 2 of the Bow River reservoir project (no funds are currently in place to continue moving the project forward)
- Slashed Alberta Community Resilience Program (ACRP) funding may result in canceled or delayed local mitigation projects
- Expiration of the TransAlta agreement allowing for modified operations of Ghost Reservoir for the purposes of flood mitigation
